Ingredients

  • 140 g (½ cup + 2 tbsp) salted butter, melted
  • 213 g (cup) light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg, room temp
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 240 g (2 cups) all-purpose flour
  • ¾ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 170 g (1 cup) semisweet chocolate chips , plus more for topping (I use Guittard)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter and brown sugar.
  • Add the egg and vanilla, and mix until fully combined.
  • Fold in the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Lastly, fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Use a 3 tablespoon cookie scoop to portion the dough onto the two baking sheets.
  • Bake the cookies one tray at a time in the center of the oven for 11-13 minutes.
  • Once the cookies come out of the oven,  immediately use a round cookie cutter or glass to scoot the edges in and make them perfectly round. Enjoy!
