Make the batter

In a large bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, eggs, vanilla, and salt until well combined. Add dry ingredients and mix until fully combined. Cover bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least one hour or overnight.

Place your waffle iron over low-medium heat. Pour in about 1 cup of batter and cook until evenly golden brown. Cool waffles on a wire rack and serve immediately with butter, fresh fruit, and maple syrup.
