For the caramel apple pie filling, you'll need apples, caramel sauce, flour, brown sugar, vanilla, spices, butter, and lemon juice.

Make the pie dough


Make the pie dough up to 3 days ahead of time stored in the fridge or up to 3 months ahead of time stored in the freezer.

Peel and cut the apples into thin slices and squeeze the lemon juice all over.

Mix the caramel sauce with the flour and spices. Then, cook the apple slices with the butter and brown sugar over medium heat for about 5 minutes.

Mix the caramel sauce mixture into the apples and cook for another 2-3 minutes.

Pour the caramel apple pie filling onto a baking sheet. Spread out into an even layer and set aside to cool.

Allow to cool


Roll out the pie dough and place in the pie dish. Pour the apple pie filling into the dish.

Assemble the pie


Roll out the rest of the dough and make the lattice. Crimp the edges as desired. Chill the pie for 30 minutes.

Brush the pie with an egg wash and sprinkle with turbinado sugar. Bake on the bottom rack for about 1 hour.

Allow to cool for at least four hours or overnight. Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and more caramel sauce!
